You probably know the capital cities of England and France. But what about Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Switzerland?


Do you know the capital city of Australia? Many people think that Sydney or Melbourne is the capital. This is not true. The capital of Australia is Canberra. The name Canberra means "meeting place." It became the capital of Australia in 1927.


Next, we will talk about Brazil. What is the capital city of Brazil? Is it Sau Paulo? Is it Rio de Janeiro? No, it isn't. The capital of Brazil is actually Brasilia. Brasilia has many modern buildings, and it has a population of 2.8 million people.


What about Canada? Many people think that Toronto is the capital city of Canada. This is not true. Yes, Toronto is the biggest city in Canada, and it has Canada's most famous building—the CN Tower—but it is not the capital of the country. The capital of Canada is Ottawa.


Finally, do you know the capital of Switzerland? Is it Zurich, Geneva, or Bern? Hmm. It's Bern. This city has a famous clock tower. Also, Albert Einstein lived in Bern from 1902 until 1909. He developed his biggest ideas in Bern.
