My name is John and today is my day off. I don't have to go to work! I took the day off because it's my mom's birthday. She's turning eighty-five, and I want to take her out for lunch. She really likes Korean food. I will take her to a nice Korean restaurant ten minutes from her house.


Right now, it's eight o'clock, and I want to go for a walk. I love hiking. I rarely have a chance to do it in the morning because of my job. The sky is a little cloudy, but I don't mind.


This afternoon, after lunch with my mom, I will go shopping. I need to buy a new winter jacket. My friend told me about a sale at Sports Express. I hope I can find something nice there.


After shopping, I'm going to relax at home. All of my friends work, so I can't invite them to my apartment. That's okay. I can just sit on the couch, eat snacks, and watch TV. I will probably watch old episodes of my favourite show, The Office.


Finally, I don't want to cook today. I'm going to order a small pizza for dinner. Pizza is not healthy, but it's my day off! I want to enjoy it!
