To help learners feel more confident and to develop grammatical accuracy, the warm-up questions have some suggested answer beginnings, which makes them ideal for learners who are practicing for the first time. Look at Cameron's schedule. What does he usually do during the school week? Remember to use the third person present simple. For example, "He wakes up at 7 o'clock. He goes to school at 8. At 8:45, he starts his classes..."
If you're working with a partner, take turns, or ask your partner questions such as, "What does he do at 5:15?" or "Where is he at 6 o'clock in the evening?"

Practice using the past continuous by answering the questions below. You can answer with "At _____, I was [verb+ing]."

Are you free ON...?
Make plans with a friend. Use your imagination to answer these questions. "Are you free?" means "Are you available?" or "Do you have plans?" You can answer with "Sorry. I'm busy on _____," "I'm free on _____," etc. You can also add a time of day in your answer. For example, "I'm free on Saturday at 1 o'clock," or "I'm free on Friday night."
Are you free for lunch on Saturday?
I'm going to see the new Disney movie on Friday night. Do you want to come? Are you free?
We need to have a meeting to discuss this. When are you free this week?
I would love to have dinner together! What's a good day for you? When are you free?
